Lemlist carved out its niche in cold email by focusing on personalization. While most cold email tools let you insert {{firstName}} and {{company}} into templates, Lemlist goes further with dynamic images, personalized video thumbnails, and custom landing pages that include the prospect’s name, company logo, or even a screenshot of their website.

The personalized image feature works by creating a template, such as a whiteboard photo with a handwritten name, a coffee mug with the prospect’s logo, or a LinkedIn-style screenshot with their profile picture, and dynamically generating a unique version for each recipient. These images embed directly in the email and can significantly increase reply rates compared to plain text outreach, particularly in B2B verticals where inboxes are crowded.

Beyond personalization, Lemlist has expanded into a full multi-channel outreach platform. Sequences can include email steps, LinkedIn connection requests and messages, and manual call tasks. Lemwarm, the built-in warm-up tool, is included with all paid plans. It works similarly to other warm-up networks by sending and engaging with emails across a pool of real accounts to build sender reputation. Having it bundled in rather than as a separate cost is a nice benefit.

Lemlist also added a B2B lead database, letting you find prospects by job title, company size, industry, and location. The database is smaller than Apollo or ZoomInfo, but having it built in means you can go from prospecting to sending without switching tools.

Pricing starts at $39/mo for the Email Starter plan with one sending account. The Email Pro plan at $69/mo adds image personalization and more sending accounts. The Multichannel Expert plan at $99/mo adds LinkedIn automation and custom landing pages.

The tradeoff is scale. Teams that need to run dozens of sending accounts and send tens of thousands of emails daily will find Instantly or Smartlead better suited for raw volume. Lemlist is the better fit when response quality matters more than send quantity.
